We believe that a good, accurate summary of the teachings of the Bible is found in the Westminster Confession of Faith. It was written in the 1640s in England by a studious and Christ-loving group of pastor-theologians who were assigned with the task of producing such a summary for instructive use in the Church. In addition to the Westminster Confession of Faith, the same assembly wrote the "Westminster Shorter Catechism" and the "Westminster Larger Catechism," which state the same summaries of Scriptural teaching in question-and-answer format. All of these, 350 years later, have stood the test of time. To see the Westminster Confession of Faith or either of its catechisms, click on the links to the right under “Beliefs”. We recommend either the Confession of Faith or the Shorter Catechism as the best place to start.

A Church with Connections
United with other churches.
A church on its own, independent from all others, can fall into unbiblical teaching quickly. Thus, our church is not disconnected from others, but belongs to a Bible-believing denomination called the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). While having roots in the Church Reformation in Europe in the 1500s and while being on the scene in the early 1700s in the American Colonies, the PCA, as it is today, began in 1973 and is one of North America's fastest growing denominations. The denomination now has over 338,000 members and over 1600 churches.
The PCA is a Bible-believing denomination that has held fast to the historic beliefs of the Christian faith. As such, we believe that all are sinners (this includes us!), and that all personally need to turn to Christ in faith for the forgiveness of their sins. We believe that salvation is by God's unmerited favor (grace) alone, that a person receives salvation through his or her faith alone (not by works), and that Scripture is the Christian's ultimate source of authority and guide in life.
