Being Real.
A big emphasis in our church that people really appreciate is that of being real--with ourselves, with each other, and with God. No one in our church feels like he or she must pretend to be a "super Christian" without sin. All are free to be themselves, to laugh, and to enjoy life & each other. As a result of this focus, you'll find people in our church to be very warm and genuine, very accepting and relaxed. No one in the church tries to fake anyone out as to how "spiritual" he or she is. So, it's a nice, refreshing environment to be in.
Loving Our Neighbors.
We believe that Christians are to be good neighbors, neither condemning the nonbelievers around us nor shielding ourselves from them. We believe that Jesus calls us to love our neighbors, engaging them in friendships, as He did. While God will someday judge, today we are to love (Matthew 5:43-47 and 7:1). It is our hope that God will use the Jesus-like kindness and understanding that we show toward our neighbors to bring many of them to faith in Himself (Romans 2:1-4).
Loving (and knowing) God.
. . . and deep Biblical substance to get there!
Substance, not fluff. We aren’t into wasting anyone’s time. We believe that understanding what the Bible teaches is what God wants for His people. His inspiring of all of Scripture was not overkill. All of it helps us to know and worship Him better. Thus, we are committed to strong, rich Biblical teaching from all of Scripture. Through this, we aim for each person to grow in his understanding of the Lord, whether he is just investigating Christianity or has been a Christian for 60 years. We believe that knowing God and His word better are critical for making intelligent decisions in life and for growing in one's ability to worship God.
Caring for Parents.
The pastor has five children of his own, and knows how important this is! Free, competent child care comes with virtually all church functions.
A thousand things to talk about, but only a few things to emphasize.
